How to play Two Truths and a Lie

  1. Give students two minutes to write down two true facts about themselves and one believable lie.
  2. One at a time, a student reads their three statements in any order.
  3. The class votes on which statement is the lie (hands up or fingers 1, 2, 3).
  4. The student reveals the lie.
  5. In large classes, play in groups of four to six to save time.

Variations

  • Content version: students write two true facts and one false fact about a topic you just taught.
  • Teacher version: you go first to model it and let students learn about you.
