How to play Hangman

  1. Think of a word from your current unit and draw one blank for each letter.
  2. Students take turns guessing one letter.
  3. Correct letters are written in every blank where they appear.
  4. Each wrong letter adds one part to the drawing.
  5. Students win if they solve the word before the drawing is finished.

Variations

  • Many teachers draw a snowman, flower or spaceship instead of a hanging figure.
  • Team version: alternate guesses between two teams and award a point for each correct letter.

πŸ’‘ Teacher tips

  • Play it on the board with the free online hangman tool so you can type in your own word list.
