How to play Story Chain

  1. Give an opening line, such as "On the first day of school, the classroom door would not open..."
  2. The next student adds one sentence.
  3. Continue around the room. Each sentence must connect to the last.
  4. The final student must give the story an ending.
  5. Optionally, write the story down and illustrate it later.

Variations

  • Grammar version: every sentence must use past tense or a vocabulary word from the list.
  • Fortunately/unfortunately: sentences alternate between good and bad news.
